3.an intrigue or cabal, for the purpose of gaining a verdict or carrying a measure, Dem., etc.
II.that which is prepared, equipage, Lat. apparatus, Plat., Xen.: an armament, Thuc., Dem.
2.generally, power, means, Thuc.
III.among the Jews, the day of preparation, the day before the sabbath of the Passover, NTest.
