πνύξ

the Pnyx, the place at Athens where the ἐκκλησίαι were held, Ar.; ἐν πυκνὶ ἐν τῇ ἐκκλησίᾳ Dem. It was cut out of the side of a little hill west of the Acropolis, being of a semicircular form like a theatre.
