I.before a temple, esp. of gods whose shrines or statues stood before the temple, as of Athena at Delphi, Hdt.; Παλλὰς προναία Aesch.
II.as Subst., πρόναος, ῀ πρόδομος, the hall of a temple, through which one went to the ναός or cella, Hdt.
