προσπίτνω poet. for προσπίπτω

I.to fall upon a person's neck, τινί Eur.; ἀμφὶ σὰν γενειάδα id=Eur.
2.to come in, come upon the scene, id=Eur.
II.of things, to fall upon, of arrows, Aesch.; of anger, Eur.
III.to fall down to or before, supplicate, Soph.; c. dat., προσπίτνομέν σοι id=Soph.; but more commonly c. acc., Aesch., etc.; προσπίτνω σε γόνασι Soph.:—c. inf., πρ. σε μὴ θανεῖν I beseech thee that I may not die, id=Soph.
