τειχίζω τεῖχος

I.to build a wall, Ar., etc.: c. acc. cogn., τ. τεῖχος to build it, Thuc.; so in Mid., τεῖχος ἐτειχίσσαντο they built them a wall, Il.:—Pass. to be built, Pind.: 3rd sg. plup. τετείχιστο, impers., buildings had been erected, there were buildings, Hdt.
II.trans. to wall or fortify, τὸ οὖρος id=Hdt.; τὴν πόλιν Thuc., Dem.: in Mid., τειχίζεσθαι τὸ χωρίον Thuc.:—Pass. to be walled or fenced with walls, id=Thuc.; τὰ τετειχισμένα the fortified parts, id=Thuc.
