τιτύσκομαι 1 only in pres. and imperf. combines the senses of τεύχω, τυγχάνω
I.like τεύχω, to make, make ready, prepare, τιτύσκετο πῦρ Il.; ὑπ᾽ ὄχεσφι τιτύσκετο ἵππω he put two horses to the chariot, id=Il.
II.like τυγχάνω, to aim, shoot, τινός at a person, id=Il.:—absol., βάλλε τιτυσκόμενος Od.; ἄντα τιτύσκεσθαι to aim at a mark right opposite, id=Od.; so, of one putting a key into a lock, ἄντα τιτυσκομένη id=Od.
2.metaph., φρεσὶ τιτύσκεσθαι to aim at doing a thing, i. e. to purpose, design, c. inf., Hom.
