Ăgăthō^cles , is, m., = Ἀγαθοκλῆς.
I. A king of Sicily, son of a potter, celebrated for his war with the Carthaginians for the possession of the island; cf. Cic. Verr. 2, 4, 55; Val. Max. 7, 4, 1 ext.; and esp. Just. 22, 1 sq.—Hence, Ăgăthō^clēus , a, um, adj., = Ἀγαθόκλειος, of or pertaining to King Agathocles: “tropaea,Sil. 14, 652.—
