Cĭtĭum (more rare Cittĭum ), i, n., = Κίτιον ῾Κίττιον).
I. A seaport town in Cyprus, now Khiti, the birthplace of the Stoic Zeno, Plin. 5, 31, 35, § 130; Nep. Cim. 3, 4.—Hence,
1. Cĭtĭēus , i, m., a Citian: “Zeno,Cic. Tusc. 5, 12, 34.—In plur., Cic. Fin. 4, 20, 56.—
2. Cĭtĭensis , is, m., the same: “Zeno,Gell. 17, 21.—In plur., Dig. 50, 12, 1. —
II. A town in Macedonia, Liv. 42, 51, 1 and 2.
