I.an island in the Ægean Sea, south-west of the promontory Malea, celebrated for the worship of Venus, now Cerigo, Mel. 2, 7, 10; Plin. 4, 12, 19, § 56; Verg. A. 1, 680; Ov. F. 4, 286; id. Am. 2, 17, 4 et saep.—
