amnestĭa , ae, f., = ἀμνηστία (a forgetting), amnesty, a forgiving or pardoning of a state crime: haec oblivio, quam Athenienses ἀμνηστίαν vocant, Vop. Aur. 39 (Nep. Thras. 3, 2, uses for it oblivio; cf.: “venia et oblivio,Suet. Claud. 11: “abolitio facti,id. Tib. 4).
