I.v. the letter D), ae, f. dacru-ma, kindred with Gr. δάκρυ; Sanscr. asru for dasru; Goth. tah-ja; Engl. tear; Germ. Zaehre; cf. the Sanscr. root dans and Gr. δάκ-νω, to bite, a tear.
