I.to bring any thing to a god before the temple, i. e. to dedicate, consecrate, offer in sacrifice (ante-class.): “daps profanata,Cato, R. Rom. 6: polluctum cum profanatum dicitur, id est proinde ut sit fani factum; “itaque olim fano consumebatur omne quod profanum erat,Varr. L. L. 6, § 54 Müll. (the passage is corrupt).
