vărĭcōsus , a, um, adj. varix,
I.full of dilated veins, varicose: “centuriones,Pers. 5, 189: “haruspex,Juv. 6, 397: “Arpinas,” i. e. Cicero, Sid. Ep. 5, 5 (cf. Quint. 11, 3, 143; and Vatin. ap. Macr. S. 2, 3).—* Adv.: -rĭcōsē , full of dilated veins: varicosius onera portare, Fest. s. v. muli marini, p. 149 Müll. (acc. to others, from varicus or varico, with feet spread apart).
