to stand by, take a stand near, attend: accede, adsiste: in conspectu patris, i. e. appear, Cs.: ad forīs: divinis, H.: lecto, O.: ad epulas regis, serve.—To station oneself, take a stand: propter hunc, T.: contra copias in ponte: quem super adsistens, V.: Astitit, rose (to speak), O.: ut rectus (talus) adsistat, stand erect.
