Lampsăcus

Λάμψακος). An important city of Mysia in Asia Minor, on the coast of the Hellespont; a colony of the Phocaeans; celebrated for its wine, and the chief seat of the worship of Priapus. Here were born Anaximenes, Charon , the historian, and the philosophers Adimantus and Metrodorus.
