Aedituus, Aeditŭmus

(in Gk. νεώκορος, ζάκορος, ὑποζάκορος). A person in charge of a temple, who attended to its general order, and acted as a species of sacristan or cicerone to visitors. In many cases they were women. See Gell. xii. 10.
