Exiteria

or Epexodia (ἐξιτήρια, ἐπεξόδια). Sacrifices offered by generals before they set out on an expedition (Xen. Anab. vi. 5.2). The principal object was to discover from the accompanying signs the favourable or unfavourable issue of the undertaking on which they were about to enter.
