Hippocentaurus

ἱπποκένταυρος). A horse-centaur, half-horse and half-man
(
Cic. N. D. ii. 2), as opposed to the
fish-centaur, half-man and half-fish (
ἰχθυοκένταυρος), under
which form the giants who waged war against the gods, were represented (
Apollod. i.6.1). See
