Iulia Gens

one of the most ancient patrician houses at Rome. It was of Alban origin, and was removed to Rome by Tullus Hostilius upon the destruction of Alba Longa. It claimed descent from the mythical Iulus, the son of Venus and Anchises. The most distinguished family in the gens is that of Caesar.
