Saba
(O. T. Sheba).

The capital of the
Sabaei (q.v.), in Arabia Felix,
lay on a high woody mountain, and was pointed out by an Arabian tradition as the residence of
the “Queen of Sheba,” who visited King Solomon.
2.
There was another city of the same name in the interior of Arabia Felix, where a place
Sabea is still found, nearly in the centre of El-Yemen.
3.
A seaport town of Aethiopia, on the Red Sea, south of Ptolemaïs Theron.
