Sellisternium

A religious celebration offered to the Roman female deities, resembling the lectisternium (q. v.), the main difference being that their images were ranged on seats or benches (sellae), and not on couches (lecti). See Val. Max. ii. 1, 2; Tac. Ann. xv. 44.
