（νεκροκαύστης). The person who assisted the undertaker (pollinctor, libitinarius) in laying out a corpse upon the pyre for burning (Mart.iii. 93). The occupation was regarded as a low and somewhat degraded one (Lucan, viii. 731). See Funus.
