There is a village of the name of Batneh in the [p. 1.400]
Balka, which corresponds nearly with the tribe of Gad, but as this is south of es-Salt,
its situation hardly suits that of Betonim, though there is a striking similarity in the names. (Robinson, Bib. Res.
