ALANDER

ALANDER a river of Phrygia (Liv. 38.15, 18), which is twice mentioned by Livy, in his account of the march of Cn. Manlius. It was probably a branch of the Sangarius, as Hamilton (Researches in Asia Minor, vol. i. pp. 458, 467) conjectures, and the stream which flows in the valley of Beiad; but he gives no modern name to it.
