ALAUNA

ALAUNA a town of the Unelli, as Caesar (Caes. Gal. 2.34) calls the people, or Veneti, as Ptolemy calls them. It is probably the origin of the modern town of Aleaume, near Valognes, in the department of La Manche, where there are said to be Roman remains.
