ARAVISCI

Eth. ARAVISCI (Eth. Ἀραβίσκοι, Ptol. 2.16.3; Evavisci, Plin. Nat. 3.25. s. 28), a people of Pannonia, inhabiting the right bank of the Danube, whose language and customs were the same as the Osi, a German people. But it was uncertain whether the Aravisci had emigrated into Pannonia from the Osi, or the Osi had passed over into Germany from the Aravisci. (Tac. Germ. 28.)
