A´RCHABIS

A´RCHABIS (Ἄρχαβις), a river of Pontus,--or Arabis, as it stands in the text of Scylax (p. 32)--appears to be the Arcava. The distance from the Archabis to the Apsarus was reckoned 50 stadia. The Archabis is placed between the Pyxites and the Apsarus.
