ASAEI

Eth. ASAEI (Ἀσαῖι), a people of Sarmatia Asiatica, near the Suardeni and the upper course of the Tanaïs. (Ptol. 5.9.16). They are also mentioned by Pliny, according to the common text, as having been, before his time, among the most celebrated peoples of Scythia; but Sillig gives a different reading, namely Chroasai. (Plin. Nat. 6.17. s. 19.)
