CALLIARUS

CALLIARUS (Καλλίαρος: Eih. Καλλιαρύς), a town in eastern Locris mentioned by Homer, was un-inhabited in Strabo's time, but its name was still attached to a tract of ground on account of the fertility of the latter. (Hom. Il. 2.531; Strab. ix. p.426; Steph. B. sub voce Leake, Northern Greece, vol. ii. p. 180.)
