CASTELLA´NI

Eth. CASTELLA´NI (Καστελλανοί), a people of Hispania Tarraconensis, at the foot of the Pyrenees, W. of the AUSETANI and E. of the IACCETANI, with the following towns: Sebendunum (Σεβένδοννον), also mentioned on a coin, in conjunction with Ilerda (Sestini, p. 164); Beseda (Βέσηδα: S. Juan de las Badesas, coins ap. Sestini, p. 183); Egosa (Ἐγῶσα a), and Basi (Βάσι: Ptol. 2.6.71; Ukert, vol. ii. pt. 1, p. 426).
