CERE´TAPA

CERE´TAPA (τὰ Κερέταπα: Eth. Κερεταπεύς), a town of Phrygia Pacatiana. The Ethnic name is known from the coins, which also show that there was near it a river or fountain Aulindenus. The place had also the name Diocaesarea. Some geographers fix it near Colossae.
