CI´NARA

CI´NARA or CINARUS (Κίναρος: Zinari), a small island in the Aegaean sea, NE. of Amorgos, named after the artichoke (κίναρα) which it produced. (Plin. Nat. 4.12. s. 22; Mel. 2.7; Athen. 2.70; Col. 10.235.)
