CISSA
CISSA a small town on the river Aegos in the Thracian Chersonesus. (
Plin. Nat. 4.18.)
It is undoubtedly the same place as that called Cressa (
Κρήσσα) by Scylax (p. 28). Mannert (vii. p. 191) believes that it was the same place as Aegos, and identifies it with the modem
Galata. [
