CORISOPITI

Eth. CORISOPITI a Gallic people, not mentioned by any authority earlier than the Notitia. In the middle ages the diocese of Quimper was called Corisopitensis, and it is therefore certain that the Corisopiti occupied the diocese of Quimper in Bretagne. Quimper is now in the department of Finistere. There are good reasons for supposing that the Corisopiti were a small tribe dependent on the Osismii, whom Caesar mentions (B. G. 3.9).
