DIA´NION

DIA´NION (Geog. Rav.), a place in Dalmatia, which is set down in the Peutinger Table as “ad Dianam,” where a temple of Diana once stood, succeeded in later times by the Church of St. George. It is now the promontory of Marglian, just below the mountain of the same name. (Wilkinson, Dalmatia and Montenegro, vol. i. p. 143.) [E.B.J] [p. 1.773]
