ELIO´CROCA
ELIO´CROCA (
Lorca), a city of the Bastetani, in Hispania Tarraconensis, W. of Carthago Nova, and on the high road from that city to Castulo. (
Itin. Ant. p. 401.)
It is probably identical with ILORCI, which Pliny mentions as a
civitas stipendiaria, belonging to the conventus of Carthago Nova. (
Plin. Nat. 3.1. s. 3; Wesseling,
ad Itin. l.c.; Florez,
Esp. S. vol. vii. p. 217; Mentelle,
Esp. Moel. p. 153; Ukert, vol. ii. pt. 1, p. 406.)
