ELIO´CROCA

ELIO´CROCA (Lorca), a city of the Bastetani, in Hispania Tarraconensis, W. of Carthago Nova, and on the high road from that city to Castulo. (Itin. Ant. p. 401.) It is probably identical with ILORCI, which Pliny mentions as a civitas stipendiaria, belonging to the conventus of Carthago Nova. (Plin. Nat. 3.1. s. 3; Wesseling, ad Itin. l.c.; Florez, Esp. S. vol. vii. p. 217; Mentelle, Esp. Moel. p. 153; Ukert, vol. ii. pt. 1, p. 406.)
