ERGI´NUS

ERGI´NUS (Ἐργῖνος), a tributary of the river Hebrus in Thrace, the modern Erkene. (Apollon. 1.217; Pomp. Mel. 2.2; Plin. Nat. 4.18.) This seems to be the same river as the one called by some authors Regina (Ῥηγῖνα; Leo Armen. p. 434; comp. also Strab. vii. p.331).
