GERULA´TA

GERULA´TA or GERULA´TIS, a town in Pannonia, where a Roman frontier garrison was stationed. (It. Ant. p. 247; Not. Imp.) It is identified with the modern Carlburg or Oroszvar, and some believe it to be the same as the town Χερτόβαλος, mentioned by Ptolemy (2.15.3).
