GILIGAMMAE

GILIGAMMAE (Γιλιγάμμαι, Hdt. 4.169; Γιλιγάμβαι, Steph. B. sub voce a Libyan people, who dwelt originally on the N. coast of Libya, W. of the ADYRMACHIDAE, as far as the island of Aphrodisias, W. of the port of Cyrene; but were afterwards pushed back by the Greek settlers to the inner parts of Marmarica and Cyrenaica.
