HARPAGEIA

HARPAGEIA (τὰ Ἁρπαγεῖα), a district between Priapus and Cyzicus, about the mouth of the river Granicus in Mysia, whence Ganymede is said to have been carried off. (Strab. xiii. p.587.) Thucydides (8.107) also mentions a town Harpagion (Ἁρπάγιον), which is otherwise unknown. (Comp. Steph. B. sub voce Ἁρπάγια.)
