HARPAGEIA
HARPAGEIA (
τὰ Ἁρπαγεῖα), a district between Priapus and Cyzicus, about the mouth of the river Granicus in Mysia, whence Ganymede is said to have been carried off. (
Strab. xiii. p.587.) Thucydides (
8.107) also mentions a town Harpagion (
Ἁρπάγιον), which is otherwise unknown. (Comp.
Steph. B. sub voce Ἁρπάγια.)
