IRENO´POLIS

IRENO´POLIS (Εἰρηνόπολις), a town of the district Lacunitis, in the north-east of Cilicia. It was situated not far from the river Calycadnus, and is said to have once borne the name of Neronias (Νερωνίας). (Theodoret. Hist. Eccles. 1.7, 2.8; Socrat. 2.26; Ptol. 5.8.6.)
