LAGU´SA

LAGU´SA (Λάγουσα, Λαγοῦσσα), an island in the Aegaean sea, the name of which occurs in Strabo between those of Sicinus and Pholegandrus. Hence it is probably the same as Kardiötissa, a rocky islet between the two latter islands. But Kiepert, [p. 2.117]in his map, identifies it with Polyaegus. (Strab. x. p.484; Steph. B. sub voce Eustath. ad Il. 2.625, p. 306.)
