LARNUM

LARNUM (Tordera), a small coast river in the territory of the LAEËTANI, in Hispania Tarraconensis, falling into the sea between Iluro and Blanda. (Plin. Nat. 3.3. s. 4.) It has been inferred that there was a town of the same name on the river, from Pliny's mention of the LARNENSES in the conventus of Caesaraugusta: but it is plain that the Laeëtani belonged to the conventus of Tarraco. (Ukert, vol. ii. pt. 1. p. 456, assigns these Larnenses to the Arevacae.)
