LIBNATH

LIBNATH (Λεβνά, Λοβνά), generally mentioned in connection with Lachish, from which it could not be far distant [LACHISIH]. (Josh. 10.29--32; 2 Kings, 19.8.) It belonged to Judah (Josh. 15.42), and is recognised by Eusebius as a village in the district of Eleutheropolis. (Onomast. s. v. Λοβανά.) Dr. Robinson could not succeed in recovering any traces of its name or site (Bib. Res. vol. ii. p. 389).
