MENOSGADA

MENOSGADA (Μηνοσγάδα), a place in central Germany, not far from the sources of the Main (Moenus), from which it, no doubt, derived its name. (Ptol. 2.11.29.) Its site is generally believed to have been that of the modern Mainroth, near Culmbach.
