MOSAEUS

MOSAEUS (Μώσαιος, Ptol. 6.3.2), a small stream, placed by Ptolemy between the Eulaeus and the Tigris. It is probably the same as that called by Marcian (p. 17) the Μαγαῖος. It was, no doubt, one of the streams which together form the mouths of the Tigris, and may not impossibly be the same which Pliny names the Aduna (6.27, 31), and which he appears to have considered as a feeder of the Eulaeus.
