PHINO´POLIS

PHINO´POLIS (Φινόπολις, Ptol. 3.11.4; Strab. vii. p.319), a maritime town of Thrace, not far from the junction of the Bosporus with the [p. 2.601]Euxine, and close to the town of Phileae. It has been variously identified with Inimakale, Mauromolo, and Derkus. (Mela, 2.2; Plin. Nat. 4.11. s. 18, 5.32. s. 43.)
