PYDNAE
PYDNAE or
PYDNA (
Πύδναι), a small town on the coast of Lycia, between the river Xanthus and Cape Hieron. (
Stadiasm. M. Magni, p. 221.)
It is probably the same place as the one called by Ptolemy (
5.3.5) Cydna, and which he places at the foot of Mount Cragus, where ruins of an ancient town were observed by Beaufort. (Leake,
Asia Minor, p. 182.)
