REHOB

REHOB (Ῥοώβ, al. Ῥαάβ, al. Ἐρεώ), a town in the tribe of Asher, occupied by the Canaanites. (Josh. 19.28; Judg. 1.31.) A second city of the [p. 2.698]same name is reckoned among the 22 cities of the same tribe (Josh. 19.30); but neither of these can be identified with the Rhoob (῾ποῶβ) noticed by Eusebius, 4 miles distant from Scythopolis.
